Simple But Effective Way to Get Rid of Cockroaches

myLot User Profile
Who likes cockroaches? Nobody in his right mind would say he does. These pets do not only emit bacteria but they also emit very bad odor. They are so dirty indeed.  Who then would like seeing them freely creeping on the floor, on kitchen counter, along cupboard and anywhere around the home or surroundings?  Of course we don’t.

We know for sure that keeping the house clean is needful to keep away cockroaches at home. But, have you ever wondered why despite keeping your home clean and sanitized, cockroaches can’t be totally eliminated. Sometimes you will be surprised to discover some of them thriving inside one corner of your dresser. Sometimes you will see one or two of them creeping in your kitchen cupboards. This is despite the fact that you keep those places clean. This means cockroaches also love dark and warm places.
Commercial anti-cockroach spray  has been our ordinary solution to cockroaches but we know also that these insect sprays are so costly and more than this they contain l chemical that could harm our own health, can contaminate our food and kitchen utensils and harmful to the environment as a whole. There are some chemical free insect sprays in the market but most of them are too expensive while others are not even that effective.

But do you know that you can drive those cockroaches by merely using pandan leaves. We use pandan in cooking rice, in making buko pandan and other desserts but little did we know that we can take advantage of its aromatic smell in driving away cockroaches.
How to use pandan leaves then? Just put some leaves in enclosed places where cockroaches normally stay in cupboards and closets. The cockroaches hate the aroma that comes from pandan so they will surely evacuate and leave any place with such very aromatic smell. Now, your kitchen cupboards, dressers and closets will not only have natural aromatic smell but also cockroaches-free. As simple as that! Isn’t that great?

Spanking a Child, Right or Not?

To spank or not to spank a child,  that is the question. Do we really need to spank them when they sin? There have been divided views about this issue. Some believe spanking is necessary in child discipline while other believe it is not necessary at all. Which then is right?

If there is any child who is born without any bone of naughtiness in him then he is indeed exceptional. There is no need to spank him for he deserves it not. But the truth however is that foolishness is bound in the heart of a child. Some children are easy to be disciplined though. They can be trained and corrected by mere words of warning and teaching but there are some hard-headed children that won’t to just words. These are stubborn children who keep repeating their wrong deeds despite being warned a number of times. So if we see that our child is stubborn and will not listen to mere words of warning then that’s time we should use the rod of correction.

Spanking the child should be properly employed though. It should not be done out of anger but out of your concern to correct his bad attitude. You should never slap, box, pinch our pull the hair of an erring child. If he committed grave mistake, use a rod. Never, ever use your hands to punish a child because that could aggravate his stubbornness and might lead him into hatred. Also, don’t just beat the child with a rod anywhere in his body. Beat him on safe parts of his body. It is advisable to let him lie with his face down before you spank him on his butt or on his thigh or in his palms if necessary. The parent must explain to the erring child why the thing he committed is wrong and he must be advised not to repeat the same.  Spanking the child will teach him that his wrongdoings have consequences and you as a parent will not tolerate such.  He must be properly told that he is being spanked because you love him and you don’t want him to grow into a bad child.

So going back to the question, should we spank the child or not? The answer is yes. If the child deserves spanking then we should spank him but spanking must be done properly. Now if your child can be disciplined easily even without spanking then good for him for certainly he does not need a rod at all.

A Tribute to My Mom

At 84 my Mom joined the Lord.  We shed tears, a lot tears. We know that she lived a full life and she is assured of heaven and yet we cried because we can't bear the thought that our Mom has to go. We will miss her, her very presence and every thing about her. But God has an appointed time for every one and in the case of my Mom, the appointed time happened on May 4, 2011. On that day, she was called home by God.

The fact that my mother is a Christian (in the truest sense of the word) made it easier for me and for the rest of my family to accept her demise. We know that only her body died but her soul continues to live.  It is consoling to know that she is now enjoying a life perfect and eternal with Jesus in heaven.

God promised us eternal life if we will believe. We have to admit we are sinners, repent of our sins and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.  My mother believed and got eternal life.  One day, she learned she was a sinner and was bound to suffer the wages of her sins which is eternal condemnation. She learned of the good news that there was  a way for her to escape such horrible end.   My Mom grabbed the opportunity of the free gift of salvation being offered by Jesus. She repented of her sins, and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She received the gift of salvation which gave her the assurance of eternal life in heaven. Since then her perspective in life changed. She lived her life for Jesus first and foremost. In her humble capacity she served the Lord in every possible way.

Old age made her latter life difficult but through all those difficult moments God remained good to her. She passed away very peacefully.  It was a very sad day for the family. Nevertheless, as the death of His saints if precious in the sight of God, even if tears kept rolling down my eyes, I knew I need not grief for it was Jesus who took my Mom to bring her into the mansion He has long prepared for her. Yes, indeed Jesus took my Mom to Heaven. All praises and glory be unto Him.

Christmas and the Joy it Brings

Christmas is a favorite time of the year. Children and adults alike look forward to this season with so much excitement. This is because no other occasion can compare with the joy of Christmas. The main reason for the joy is of course Christ, the very reason for the the season. Without Christ, there is no reason to celebrate Christmas. So, we ought to thank God for He gave us Jesus and because of this we have Christmas, the day of commemorating the birth of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the reason why we should take every Christmas as one important occasion to celebrate because it is celebrating the birth of our Savior.

The past Christmas has been really joyful to many people so that even if  we are now on the third day of the new year 2011 the memories of the past Christmas remain in our hearts. The bonuses we received have all been spent but no regrets. After all, we received them because we have to spend them for the season.  The Christmas parties brought so much fun and happiness. Friends and families have had the chance to have sweet fellowship amidst the bountiful food they shared together and this is worth all the money spent. The funny games, the exciting exchanging of gifts, the generous gift giving and the happy greetings gave so much cheers.  The past Christmas has indeed brought many  beautiful memories to keep. We could only thank technology for giving us the chance to capture and keep photos and videos of these wonderful memories. As we go over the photos, we could still feel the happiness the season brought us.
Now that  2011 has  started to roll, our eyes can look forward to the next Christmas. It may seem too early but time passes so swiftly and without you knowing it December is here again and each one is busy again preparing for Christmas 2011.

Earn Money Reviewing Products (Reviewstream.com)

There is an easy way to earn money just by writing about every product and services you are using or have previously used! You just have to be very descriptive about what you like and don't like about the product or services and your writings must be based on your own experience. I find this a very easy job. There is nothing easier for me than talking about how I feel about this and that. I've been earning 50 cent to $2.50 per review from this site. It is so easy to earn $50 from this site. At first you might think $50 is a high minimum payout and might just get discouraged to join. Actually reaching the payout is just so easy. You just have to choose products on health, medicine, electronics and cosmetics make sure they are at least 500 words so you would get the maximum $2.50 per review. If you can't reach the maximum pay don't despair because they pay you the bulk rate of $.50 anyway.
I think this has been the best review site ever. You can write about the products and services of your choice so it is easier than other sites that specifically states which products should be reviewed. I have been paid four times in this site. And the best thing about this site is they pay you some few minutes after you request your earnings. Great isn't it. So, if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity to earn from your own experience, go and be a part of this wonderful site by copy and pasting this link:

This is a legitimate site, I swear! Just look at some of my payment proofs.

One Lovely Memory of Summertime

Today is the 4th day of June in this lovely year of 2010. As June came in, I noticed there have been rains at night and some occasional rain showers during day time. The temperature has obviously cooled down and I think we are really about to bid summer goodbye.

Despite the scorching heat this summer has brought us, I could not deny that this summer has good memories to keep. As always, one of those good memories is the one spent in the beach with my beloved family and chosen friends. Sleeping on the shore with only an old-fashioned mat to protect our back from the sand is one thrilling experience of a lifetime. The sounds of the waves went louder as the night went deeper but surprisingly those did not disturb us at all for they were like unique melodies of the night. The gentle moonlight was so endearing. It was like a big lampshade in the midst of that dark night. It was one big assurance that God was watching us all through the dimly lighted surrounding. With that, we all slept tightly on that lovely night for there was nothing to fear.

I really do love the beach and will always keep the happy and peaceful memories it gives.

Daddy, My Super Hero

In the eyes of a child, his Dad is his superhero. He is someone he feels so secured with and someone he needs when the going gets tough. A child considers his Dad as someone who could protect him from any harm and could defend him at all cost. A child has such a high expectation on the strength and power of his Dad so that his Dad’s presence gives him the feeling of safety and pride.

A child believes his Dad is someone who could do for him the jobs his Mom could not. When he needs someone to fix his toys, his Dad is there to be his skillful repairman. When he needs someone to play with, his Dad is there to be his enduring playmate. When he needs someone to carry him when the walking has been too long, it is his Dad who serves as his strong carrier. Indeed his Dad is someone he could always count on…. a real superhero.

A Dad’s importance in the life of a child is not in anyway inferior to that of a Mother. A Dad has a very important role to play. He is a stronghold that keeps the child’s heart confident and secure. It is therefore the duty of every Dad to spend more time with their children so that as they grow they will not feel deprived of father’s love and protection. More than these, fathers should serve as good examples to their children. They should be the model of godliness so that their kids will grow in the love and knowledge of the Lord.
